history meme - ten moments - the crowning and beheading of anne boleyn

Anne was crowned Queen of England on 1 June 1533, and her ascension to the throne marked the split between her husband, Henry VIII, and The Catholic Church, and the beginning of the The Church of England, which remains the state religion in England to this day. She was beheaded on 19 May 1536 under accusations of high treason, including murder, incest and witchcraft. Her daughter Elizabeth would eventually ascend the throne and become one of Britain’s most celebrated rulers. Anne is remembered as one of history’s most infamous queens.
